Happy New and Prosperous Year 2008

Today is the last day of the year 2007. Wow cepat jugak masa berlalu huh...tak sedar pulak dah ujung tahun.Well sebelum apa-apa , i just wanna wish you all my friends far and near Happy New Year 2008 and also mau minta ampun dan maaf jika ada yang terkasar bahasa dan yang terKURENG sepanjang tahun 2007 ini.
This year actually banyak pengalaman baru yang aku experience and rasanya macam tidak mau lepaskan semuanya and kalau boleh mau dia kekal selamanya. This year also is a great blessing kerna ada ramai kawan baru yang sentiasa menyokong dalam iman saya sekeluarga.Yalah we all baru saja datang ke Bintulu ni, tapi banyak jugak kawan-kawan baru yang kami jumpa.
Next year apa pulak aku punya azam ya??One thing for sure nak tambahkan bilangan family member aku ni. kalau boleh nak yang kembar.....he..he..he...tak lah aku sunyi bila dah tua nanti kan???

the Happy Teresa..
Teresa as usual very kind in giving present..
Bye-bye friend and till we meet again...

Last Wednesday in fact is the last day for Teresa working in Bintulu. She will be transfered back to her home town in Sibu. Getting to know Teresa is a true gift from God which she always enlighted our FIAT group in many ways. Through her laughter, Joke and even flat tuned voice during our choir practise. Now that she is no more here in Bintulu with us, we pray that she will always success in what ever task undertaken and especially with grow more in faith for our Lord JESUS....

Bye-bye Teresa, for sure we will miss you....

Giving Your Child the Excellence Edge

We can give our children an edge in life by teaching them ten basic skills or strategies.
These strategies will help them grow into productive adults who live fulfilling lives and form lasting relationships.

The best place for children to learn these principles is at home, where we adults are practicing them to enhance our own lives.

Here are the ten strategies that can help prepare our children for their future.

1. Produce Quality Work.
Quality means doing more than was expected—above and beyond the call of duty.
2. Work Independently.
Learning to work independently doesn't happen at school.
3. Think Creatively.
Creative thinkers know how to consider possible effects and outcomes.
4. Think Critically.
Teach a child how to tell the difference between the truth and a lie and he will be more successful in life.
5. Manage Information Efficiently.
Obtaining useful information is an important skill. Organizing information is equally vital.
6. Work Cooperatively.
In a family, we must work with the needs of others in mind.
7. Communicate Effectively.
Everyone suffers when the communication is faulty.
8. Lead with Confidence.
Anyone with more than one child knows that some are natural leaders and some are decided followers.
9. Manage Time.
How children learn to spend their time now influences how they spend their time in school and later as adults.
10.Assess Yourself.
What children believe is true about themselves is largely determined by what others think of them.

Most parents already possess and use many of these strategies, but there is always room for improvement. The best way to teach these values to your children is to model them.

Begin by targeting one or two areas of concern at a time and have fun watching your child grow.

Produce Quality Work
It’s never too soon to teach your children to produce quality work. In a nutshell, quality means doing more than is expected—going above and beyond the call of duty.

If our children are going to grow into adults who produce quality work, we help them by cultivating that ability now while they’re in school, the ideal training ground for practicing quality work.

Before leading your child in the quest for quality, it’s important to consider whether you produce quality work. Do you pursue quality in your work, at home, and in your relationships with others?

A quality worker …

: is aware of his strengths and weaknesses.
: is aware of something in his life that could use improvement and takes steps to make it happen.
: accepts constructive criticism without getting defensive.
: is confident enough about his job performance to sign his name to it.
: can be trusted to keep his promises.
: is aware of when others produce quality and lets them know he has noticed.

Considering the quality we pursue develops a new self-awareness. Then we can encourage this awareness in our children. That lays their foundation for personal improvement in the future

Spend Time in Prayer

Tell God all your hopes and fears for the coming year. Ask for insight into, and direction for, each child you plan on teaching. He knows your child intimately and knows the plans He has for him or her.

Ask God to supply all that you need in order to home educate: books, patience, creativity, lab equipment, and wisdom. God will work on you to be the parent and teacher He wants you to be.

Beware of succumbing to adult peer pressure. You do not have to do what other families are doing. Your family is unique, so your style and methods of home schooling will also be unique! Do not let your knees buckle when you hear about another family studying Latin and you are having difficulty with the multiplication tables. If Latin is not working for you and you feel God telling you to focus on multiplication tables, then listen to and follow God.

And don't forget to thank Him for going before you every step of the way!

Prayer to St. Micheal the Archangel

St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle; be our defence against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls. Amen.

Sancte Michael Archangele, defende nos in proelio, contra nequitiam et insidias diaboli esto praesidium. Imperet illi Deus, supplices deprecamur: tuque, Princeps militiae coelestis, Satanam aliosque spiritus malignos, qui ad perditionem animarum pervagantur in mundo, divina virtute, in infernum detrude. Amen.
